Today was such a warm day! Spring is definitely here!
So don’t forget your sunscreen out there! Remember you really do need it everyday, not just at the beach.
Makeup with sunscreen in it does NOT count either! Most sunscreen that is in makeup is not stable.
Plus, it usually does not provide UVA protection either.
Also you are suppose to apply 1/4 teaspoon of sunscreen to your face in order to get that full SPF 30 protection. By not applying the full amount there is no way to tell how much protection you are really receiving, it could be an SPF of 2! You cannot apply 1/4 of teaspoon of makeup, that would look really weird and I think it would be sliding all off in seconds.
Remember that when applying sunscreen you are suppose to rub it on and then just pat it in! The least amount of rubbing will provide the most protection.
After applying your sunscreen, wait 20-30min. before applying your makeup!
The longer you wait the more time sunscreen has to fully set in. Applying your makeup right after can interfere with the sunscreen, causing it not to work as well. Also you are suppose to wait 30min. before going out in to sunlight after applying sunscreen anyway!
If you where a sunscreen with Avobenzone it’s best to make sure your makeup does not have oxides, such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Avobenzone is destabilized with oxides. This includes foundation and powder. However, if you wear a physical sunscreen, then makeup with oxides is fine.
May you Powder your noses with the Right Protection!
Happy Friday Everyone!
