Coconut Oil is the Best for Hair!

Oil treatments! Do oil treatments really work? I’ve tried oil treatments a couple different times and never saw an improvement. However, it depends on the oil that you use! Different oils have different benefits and do different things.

Coconut Oil! Yes, coconut oil is the oil to use on hair! It actually penetrates the hair and provides moisture. Other oils just coat and protect the hair cuticle.

I have read so many reviews about Coconut oil and everyone who tries it seems to love it! It makes their hair healthier and shinier! So start looking for products with coconut oil as the first or second ingredient! Or you can just try straight coconut oil! Many people suggest buying the expelled pressed coconut oil that is found in health food stores. This is a big tub of coconut oil that is hard and that must be warmed up either in your hands or float the tub in warm water for a few seconds to liquefy it. I say just try the regular coconut oil, it’s cheaper and should work just as good. Or you can try both to see which one your hair likes better.

You can apply your coconut oil treatment in a couple different ways:

  • Apply oil to the length of hair only, not the roots. Leave in for 30 minutes before shampooing, no need for conditioner.
  • Or do the same as above, but you can use your daily conditioner if you feel like it.
  • Apply oil to length of hair and put shower cap on and sleep in the treatment all night. Wash with shampoo and use your daily conditioner or not.

I have never tried the overnight treatment, but it sounds like a good treatment and worth trying!

You can also drop one drop into your hands rub together and then glide your hands over your dry clean hair. It works great to tame flyaway’s and to add shine! Plus it really adds moisture! Talk about a great multi-purpose product! Some people also use coconut oil as an eye and face makeup remover. It is comedogenic, so caution to the acne prone, but everybody is different, so try it and see. It is best for dry skin too, as it’s a heavy oil.

I have not tried out coconut oil yet, but I can’t wait to try it! I plan to pick some up this week! I will let you all know how I like it.
