SPF Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Chapstick

Lipstick is the final touch in my makeup routine.
It may be the first and most important in yours. Make you beautiful lips stand out with just a hint of color or sexify them up with a daring purple. A powerful red always makes a statement too.

I like to just wear a hint of color during the day usually. No matter what your preference is, make sure that your lipstick contains SPF. Or you could put on an SPF chap stick and then put your lipstick or lip gloss on over. Remember to reapply throughout the day, but given that many people’s lips can get dry, remembering is not a problem.

Many lipsticks and chap sticks do not have good UVA protection yet. I did find one that does contains pretty decent protection. Neutrogena MoistureShine Lipstick:
Active Ingredients: Octinoxate (7.5%), Titanium Dioxide (1.1%)

This lipstick comes in a pretty small silver lipstick tube. I really like how it is silver, it looks like a more expensive lipstick from a department store, but it is from the drugstore! The lipstick is pretty sheer so don’t be scared to go for the deep red one. It is pretty moisturizing some Aquaphor or Vaseline may be needed to prep lips underneath. The texture is not sticky at all, it’s in between a lip gloss and a lipstick. They run around $7, but look for the buy one get one 50% off coupons. Ulta and CVS has these deals pretty often. Give your lips the beauty and sun protection they need!

EyeShadow Staying Power!

Does you beautiful eye makeup that you did so precisely in the morning melt right off by night?
Or after a night out dancing, you look in the mirror and see that your sexy smoky eyes have gone up in flames!

Well, that happens to me with my oily eyelids.

The secret to lasting eye makeup is an eyeshadow primer!

Yes, you can even wear the cheap Wet ‘n’ Wild makeup and it will stay on! So Balogne to all those that say you have to wear expensive makeup so it will stay on! Nope, Wet ‘N’ Wild will just as well with eyeshadow primer!

Three of the best eyeshadow primers are:

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion! It is $16, but it will last forever, because you only need to use a little dot on your eyelids. I have used the Urban Decay primer potion and it works really good!

2. Lumene Eye Makeup Base. It is only $10 so that is better and I have heard it works just as good as the Urban Decay one.

3. Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It is $17 and is another primer that gets raves!

I have also heard that just using a cheap non-scented chapstick will work well too and make your eyeshadow appear brighter! I may have to try this sometime!

How to Kick Your Lip Balm Addiction!

Are you lips always chapped? Are you addicted to lip balm?

Yes you can actually be addicted to lip balm! Yikes!
I am addicted. I admit it. That’s the first step to healthy lips right!? I has no clue that I was using chap stick too many times!

I have used every chap stick under the sun. Burt’sbees, chapstick, blistex, carmex, bonne bell, body shop variaties, vaseline, every drugstore brand, random natural ones, bath & body works…. Okay I could still go on, but I won’t bore you. Whenever I would go out I would buy a new chap stick. Always searching for the most moisturizing yummiest one I could find.

My lips are actually dependent on chap stick, they cannot moisturize themselves, that’s why I have to reapply so frequently! Winging off of chap stick is pretty much the only way for your lips to gain back their natural moisturizing abilities. All of the sudden just not using chap stick as much is almost like torture for me, my lips just get so dry!
Until finally, I have found one that has actually help me cut down my application times, just by moisturizing my lips for the longest ever. It is actually not a conventional chap stick, so no wonder it took me so long to find it!

Aquaphor! Yes, Aquaphor is the secret to heavily moisturizing your lips and kicking your addiction! After applying Aquaphor my lips stay moisturized for several hours! In the past I always had to reapply every hour or more! Petroleum is the main ingredient in Aquaphor, because petroleum is the most moisturizing ingredient. Aquaphor is actually a healing ointment that is used for cracked dry skin, minor burns, and diaper rash. So not only does Aquaphor moisturize but it heals your lips. My lips are dry cracked skin, so it is save to use on my lips! Try it, just once and you will be in love! When I apply it at night before bed, it lasts all night long! And I think my lips are finally not so dependent on chap stick.

Aquaphor is also the best lip balm out there, because it is a multi-purpose item! Slather some on your feet then put on socks, go to bed and wake up with the softest feet. Aquaphor can also be used as a moisturizer for dry peeling face.

I always have to have Aquaphor by my bed now! I only use Aquaphor at night or when I am at home. When I am out during the day I use a chap stick or gloss with SPF in it! Don’t forget your lips, they need sun protection too!
