Coppertone’s Nutra Shield Dual Defense Sunscreen Review!

I have been using Coppertone’s Nutra Shield Dual Defense Sunscreen for a while now and I love it! I wanted to wait a while, before I updated my review, because I had a breakout at first.

I think a few pimples popped up, because before I started using this new Coppertone sunscreen I was trying out another new sunscreen. And then I switched to Coppertone, so my skin was irritated. I could not tell which product was breaking out my skin.

That is why it is best to only use one new product at a time and give each new skincare product about a month until your full critique.

Coppertone’s Nutra Shield Dual Defense sunscreen is a very light texture that sinks in my skin easily. It works well on my oily skin too, it does not leave a very shiny residue. And it feels like I am wearing nothing. This sunscreen also contains antioxidants, which can help fight free radicals. I am not using any antioxidant product right now, so it is nice that this sunscreen contains some.
The best part of this Coppertone sunscreen is that my red marks from previous pimples are fading and I have no pimples right now!

update: While on vacation the last couple of weeks, I wore this sunscreen on my face outside all day at NASCAR and skiing another whole day, and I did not get sunburn at all!

I will be updating more about Coppertone’s 2009 line of sunscreens in the future. I am excited about their new sunscreens. Their whole new 2009 line of sunscreens are stable with great broad protection from UVA and UVB rays.

New Neutrogena Sunscreens

So I was at Wal-Mart today and they had all of the sunscreens out in the main aisle. That means it is sunscreen time. Spring time and summer vacations are just around the corner. Fun time playing in the warm sun is coming.

There were a lot of new Neutrogena sunscreens with incredibly high UVB (SPF) and UVA numbers! There was a new sport one that looked really cool, that I bet would be great for oily skin people for everyday wear. They also had a new Age Shield facial sunblock with SPF 90! Wow!

The U.S. sunscreens have really caught up for European’s sunscreens. Almost all the sunscreens out there are stable. I did not pick up any of these new Neutrogena sunscreens, even though they were tempting. I am still testing out my Coppertone Nutra Shield Dual Defense sunscreen as mentioned in a previous post. Will update about it soon…

Coppertone Sunscreen Nutra Shield Dual Defense

So I went back to Wal-mart yesterday and I found that sunscreen I was talking about in my post a couple days ago. And yes it was the Coppertone brand! I am not crazy…hehe. :)

However, I do not think this Coppertone sunscreen is very new. Well, the bottle does not have the “new” label on it anywhere. I cannot find any reviews about it anywhere though, which is a bummer. I bought it up anyway, even though I like to buy skincare products after reading the reviews. I decided to give this new sunscreen a try.

Besides, you cannot just go by reviews. Even if a product receives all five star reviews, it still comes to down to your skin. Everybody’s skin is different and what your skin tolerates is different.

The Coppertone Nutra Shield SPF 70 Dual Defense with antioxidant down the in the middle of the ingredient list, so not much effectiveness there. However, I am not using any antioxidant product, because they were breaking me out and I just have not tried anymore. So I thought even a little bit may be better than nothing.

Coppertone has this Nutra Shield SPF70 sunscreen in a smaller bottle face version and the bigger bottle for the whole body. I bought the bigger bottle, because I have found that the ingredients in many facial sunscreens is very smiliar to the body version of sunscreens, thus it is more economical to buyer the larger bottle.

I also kind of want to find a more protective sunscreen for summer coming up. Plus, the higher PPD the better for preventing premature aging and post acne marks. Update: The PPD is around 10 judging from the CIBA sunscreen calculator. A PPD of 8 is good, anything higher is great.

The consistency of this sunscreen is very light and it rubs in easily. My other Neutrogena SPF 30 color boosting sunscreen is much thicker. The smell is very light too, I could not even detect one. So far I like it, but it is only the first day. Update, to follow if breakouts or no breakouts occur.

Have a great day and don’t forget to wear sunscreen everyday, rain or shine! :)

New Coppertone Sunscreen or Not?

I was at Wal-Mart today and I saw a new sunscreen by Coppertone with antioxidants in it. And so I went home to check out the reviews and look it up at drugstore.com and the Coppertone website. However, I cannot find it anywhere!

I know it was the brand Coppertone, because I made a point to double check the brand name. Maybe, I am going crazy or maybe it was not Coppertone.

I did not buy it right off, because I was just browsing and did not need a new sunscreen yet. Plus, I like to read reviews about products before I buy them.

I kind of want to go back to that Wal-Mart tomorrow and buy it, just to prove to myself that it was indeed Coppertone! Stay tuned for the verdict soon!
