Crazy Aussie Hair Conditioning Sprays

I ran out of my Aussie Leave-In Conditioner Hair Insurance spray the other day. I went to buy some more at Target and I could not find it. I was pretty bummed, because I love this product. First of all it really moisturizes my hair very well and second of all it is cheap. I have to use this spray after I shampoo and conditioner, because my hair is fine and it gets very tangled.

Then I saw that Aussie had a new product out called Aussie Sun-Touched Conditioning Shine. I figure I might as well try it, because it was a conditioner, plus shine all in one. And I looked at the ingredients on the bottle and it looked very similar of the Aussie Hair Insurance from what I could remember, so I bought it up.

When I got home I compared the ingredients of the two products online and here they are below:

Aussie Hair Insurance:

Water, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Trideceth 12, Polyquaternium 11, PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PPG 2 Methyl Ether, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate 80, Aminomethyl Propanol, Citric Acid, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Silk Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice

Aussie Sun-Touched Shine:

Water, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Trideceth-12, Polyquaternium-11, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PPG-2 Methyl Ether, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate 80, Aminomethyl Propanol, Citric Acid, Ecklonia Radiata Extract (Australian Sea Kelp Extract).

Ummm…they look pretty much identical! I can’t believe it. Well, except for the extracts and aloe juice at the very bottom of the lists. Crazy, huh? I did find another difference though. For some reason the sun spray does not spray out nice and even like the hair insurance. Weird, because the spray cap looks similar. I can always buy or find a new spray cap to go on top, or a new spray bottle. Alright, so I am hair happy now. :)

Here’s to a good hair day to you!

Vaseline Clinical Therapy Lotion like Prescription Lotion!

If you have been reading my blog, then you may know that the Vaseline brand is one of my favorite lotions. Vaseline is one of the most moisturizing ingredients. Plus, it comes right from the earth so how more natural can you get, for all you natural product lovers out there.

Well, guess what? Vaseline has a new lotion! It is called Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion. I actually received an email about it. Here is a video all about the new lotion:

Did you watch the video? This Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion started in a small town in Alaska and it spreaded by word of mouth! Since, Alaska is very cold in these winter months, it was a perfect place to try it out. I heard that it is not too greasy, too thick, not too thin.

Here are the ingredients:
Active Ingredients: Dimethicone (1%) (Skin Protectant)

Inactive Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Steareth 21, Borago Officianalis Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterol, Petrolatum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearic Acid, Lecithin, Tapioca Starch, Stearyl Stearate, Sodium Chloride, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Titanium Dioxide

It has more glycerin and Dimethicone than other Vaseline lotions. There are so many debates on which is better, Vaseline or glycerin. And so I have heard that a combo of Vaseline and glycerin works best. Plus, this Clinical Therapy lotion is suppose to provide 60% more moisture than prescription lotion, but you can buy it over the counter!

I really want to try this lotion out! I will let you know how I like it in a future post.

Crazy Weather Hair Day

On these cold crazy weather days, how do you fix your hair? I am not a big heat styling lady. I prefer to use the least amount of blow drying and curling iron as I can. Of course my hair is naturally straight. A couple pieces in front are not perfectly straight, but all the rest is.

If I do use a blow dryer I make sure to use a heat protectant spray, one with no alcohol and little to no silicones or any ingredient with -cone at the end. There are water-soluble -cones that are okay, because they wash out easily with just water. I use VO5 miracle mist, but I think they discontinued their product. So on to find a new hair product, isn’t that the worst when they discontinue a product?

Also smoothing a drop of jojoba oil or silicone cream in your hair can help if it is raining. Again, it depends if your hair likes silicone or not. Some people love silicone and some people don’t.

Happy hair day!

The Best Mascara for Long Curly Full Lashes?

Beautiful, long, full, curly, lashes! Every girl wants them!
What do you use to get beautiful lashes?

Using a eye lash curler is a must! Start from the outside in and slowly work your way up from the base in a back and forth wiggle fashion. Another tip is to coat just the tips first and then continue with the above step.

Mascaras coat your lashes with waxes and polymers to make them appear thicker. When there was no such thing as mascara ladies licked their fingers and applied their saliva to their lashes. Using a tiny amount of Vaseline works to ad shine in a pinch nowadays.

What are some of the best mascaras you have tried? There are so many mascaras out there and everybody always has their favorite.

Mabelline Great Lash is a tried and true favorite by many. L’oreal Volouminous is also another fav. Covergirl Lash Exact, Clinque Lash Curling mascara, and Trish McEvoy Lash Curling all get great reviews!

I prefer to use drugstore brands of mascara. I just do not see much difference in the high end mascaras, but to each their own eye. Perhaps I should try more though, I have really only tried the Clinque mascaras. As of now I do not see the reason to spend the extra cash, when we know that drugstore brands are as good as department store brands. It all depends on the ingredients and trial and error no matter where you shop.

Anti Wrinkle Cream and Stem Cells?

Stem cells research, to make an anti wrinkle cream? Is it worth it?

What if it is the latest way to make you look younger and a new breakaway for anti aging skincare products? Scientists have been researching and researching stem cells and are finding new innovative ideas everyday.

In New York there was a HBA cosmetic show and the Cosmeticsdesign.com of Europe reporters attended the event. I do not know much about the HBA show, it seems like a big event where cosmetic industry types get together and discuss the new trends in the beauty industry. Exhibitors come and show off their new skincare ingredients and talk about marketing and what the consumers are buying and looking for in the future.

I don’t think stem cells research is necessary for creating anti aging products. I think we need to focus on aging gracefully more with a smile. Do we really need a anti wrinkle cream that badly?

Differences of Dermatologists

I just want to put another notice out there.

Please do not believe everything your dermatologist says. Dermatologists do not know everything when it comes to skincare. Some say one product is terrible and another says the same product is the best thing since slice bread.

Dermatologists do not know everything about sunscreen either, you cannot trust them completely. That is why we have to take more responsibility for ourselves and really learn about the ingredients in everything.

I hear so many horror stories about Dermatologists and I am sure you have too and been there as well. I know I have. There are so many crazy ones out there!

If you really want to find a dermatologist you have to keep trying ones and make sure they know their stuff. Research the products yourself first. It is just like anything, it is best to get a second opinion. It is amazing how doctors are so different and how they have such opposite opinions.

I love Bath and Body Works body creams too! They are so thick, smell heavenly, and rub in nice and fast. However, today I went to Target and lo and behold they had another one of my all time favorite lotions! It is the Vaseline brand lotion in Coco Butter, but they had the lotion in the Target brand! Yay, finally! I have been waiting for the Coco Butter one to come out in the Target Brand! I didn’t think it was going to happen, but it did! This Vaseline Coco Butter lotion is the best, it smells great, rubs in nicely, pretty thick for a lotion, and the best of all has petroleum as the second ingredient!

Petroleum is the most moisturizing ingredient! And I have search far and long for a lotion that has petroleum as the second ingredient and Vaseline’s Coco Butter lotion is the only one that has it. Yup, even the other Vaseline brands do not have petroleum as the second ingrediant oddly enough.

So I am really excited about the better deal of Target’s brand Coco Butter lotion. Now Target brand really is just as good as the big brands. Same ingredients, same size, for a better deal!

Remember it is all about the ingredients!
