Celebrate Earth Day with a Honey Face Mask!

Enjoy God’s beautiful outdoors today even if it is only walking from your car to work. Take a couple minutes to breathe in the fresh outside air. And notice the beautiful small things around you.

I am not big into natural skincare products, but I have used some products on my skin that comes from the earth, well bees. Honey masks. Have you tried one before? Perhaps, I should do one today to celebrate earth day.

Do not be afraid about a sticky mess. Many people love doing honey masks. Honey has enzymes and is naturally anti-bacterial, which is good for acne. Yes, honey and acne go together. A honey mask is moisturizing too, but oily gals have like this mask as well.

The last time I used a honey mask was when my face was peeling from just starting out on the Avene retinoid. You milage will vary as with any skincare product, but many people of all skin types like this mask.

Manuka or raw honey works the best, because they have the most enzymes, but I and others have just used the honey in the bear and it works too.

Squirt some honey in your hands and a couple drops of water. You want a little water to help it spread, but not too much, or the mask will slid off. Gently rub the honey over your face and spread it thinly. The mask will not drip off your face either. Leave on for 15 minutes and then just splash off with warm water. Watch how the water takes it all off very easily.

Let me know how you like the natural honey mask?

Toner Skincare Product

Do you use a toner product to refresh your skin?

I stopped using a toner months ago and have never looked back. I have found that my skin does not need them. So once less skincare product to buy! :)

If you do use a toner, gentle is usually best. I use to like Neutrogena’s ones, Nivea moisturizing ones, or witch hazel. Toners with no alcohol are the least irritating. And I have oily acne prone skin. Medicated ones full of alcohol are not always needed for my type of skin types. Often times using a medicated toner and acne medication afterwards can be too much.

It took me a long time to realize I did not need a medicated toner and then a long time to realize I did not need any toner!

Is it time to check your toner skincare product needs?

12 Ways to Use Vaseline

I love Vaseline products as many of you may know. It really is one of the best moisturizing skincare products out there. And it comes directly from the ground, so for all of you natural lovers out there. How more natural can you get?

There are many ways to use the good old fashion 100% Vaseline in a big tub. Try some of these 12 ways to use Vaseline!

1. Put a coat on your eyelashes before you go to bed. Lots of people swear by this – and say it will make your lashes grow longer and thicker over time.
2. Put a coat of Vaseline on your feet at night, cover them with socks and wake up to softer feet – every day!
3. Put Vaseline on your elbows every day – they will stay soft!
4. Put Vaseline on your cuticles several times a day for softer and better looking cuticles every day.
5. Put Vaseline on chapped lips
6. Use Vaseline as lip gloss
7. Can be used as a moisturizer for acne prone skin types (it is a misconception that it clogs pores)
8. Moisturizes severe dry skin
9. Applying Vaseline on your teeth prevents lips from sticking to teeth. Celebrities and contestants in beauty pageants use this trick so they can smile the whole time!
10. Makeup remover
11. Use on cuticles
12. Use on eyelids and then apply eyeshadow for that dewy look.

Happy Hump Day! Here’s to soft skin and Vaseline petroleum jelly!

Wal-Mart’s Brand of Vaseline’s Coco Butter Lotion

Wal-Mart now has their Equate brand of Coco Butter lotion that is basically the same as Vaseline’s Cocoa Butter! I was excited to see it! Target already has already their brand, but now Wal-Mart carries it too.

Vaseline is the second ingredient on the ingredient list. Vaseline is one of the most moisturizing ingredients, so this is great! All that matters is ingredients, so if you can find a great deal like this and it works for your skin, then do not pass it up! Price does not mean much, it is up to the ingredients and you.

Have silky smooth skin and a great day today!

Bubble Bath, Bath Salts, and Bath Bombs!

Did you take a nice relaxing bubble bath this weekend? I fit one in there, it was very nice. I always try to take a bath once a week. I did not actually use bubbles though. Nope, I like bath salts. Bath salts make the water softer and more moisturizing. Bath salts also do not cause scum around the bath, like bubbles. In fact I think the bath salts help to eliminate scum. There are lots of different brands and flavors out there too. I really do not think there is a difference between the types of bath salts. Use whatever brand and flavor you like, regardless how expensive or inexpensive it is.

Bath bombs are very similar to bath salts. They fizz a little bit in the water when you drop one in, but they basically provide the same affects as the bath salts. I have used the Bodycology bath bombs that I got a Big Lots and it was quite a deal, three for $2! I have also heard great reviews for the Lush bath bombs and all of the Lush bath products, which is why I advertise their site. Many people seem to like Lush just as much as the Bath and Body Works products, if not more!
