Reapply Sunscreen to Avoid Sunburns

Make sure to apply broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen this summer, so you don’t get a sunburn! Remember, UVA rays cause the tanning/burning. And reapply sunscreen every 2 hours or after swimming or excessive sweating. However, when you are playing all day in the sun it can be hard to remember to reapply sunscreen. Well, have you heard about Sundiwear stickers?

Apparently, you put this cute little sticker on your child and when it turns red, it is time to reapply sunscreen! And I don’t see any reason why a kid or an adult couldn’t wear this sticker?! It all depends if you mind sporting a cute little sticker. The stickers start off yellow and turn red and they come in all kinds of cute shapes, such as a dolphin, sun, skull, heart, or bear

And the best part is, you can get a FREE packet of Sundiwear stickers to try out before buying. Only one packet per family. Hurry and enter right now, it is probably only while supplies last.

Have fun in the sun this summer! Don’t forget that sunscreen!

Sunscreen for Fruits and Vegetables!

Sunscreen is not only saving you from burning this summer, it is saving your fruits and vegetables from burning too!

This summer is a bit hot and there are some droughts throughout the world and with the cost of production going up, our fruits and veggies need a little extra help! Fruits and vegetables can get sun damage too, making the fruit unable to sell.

There is this special sunscreen that was made to protect the fruit from damaging rays, but also allowing the necessary rays to penetrate and help nurture and ripen the fruit.

“Liquefied clay has been used for years, but now a California company (PureFresh) is finding positive results with an SPF 45 product made of multicrystaline calcium carbonate crystals that are engineered to specifically deflect ultraviolet and infrared light from the plants and trees on which it is sprayed. The product keeps out the bad light, but lets in the good photosynthesis rays that aid ripening”(ibtimes.com).

The sunscreen is being tested in Australia and Chile on fruits and also in California on nuts!
“Tests show its immediate impact is increasing yields by diminishing stress and heat-related defects, but officials at Purfresh in Fremont hope the product also can play a role in water and energy conservation by increasing a plant’s water efficiency”(ibtimes.com).

I hope this sunscreen will work, in order to help the farmers sell more and help us the consumer be able to buy more without higher prices!

How to Heal your Sunburn!

Sunburns happen sometimes, so here’s some tips to ease that burn.

Aloe Vera is the tried and true burn healer.

Look for Aloe Vera products with Aloe Vera at the top of the list!
Taking cool showers and cool compresses with help the sunburns. Keep the burned area moisturized. Drink plenty of water to hydrate both inside and out. Stay out of the sun as much as possible when you are sunburn. Taking an Aspirin as soon as possible helps the inflammation.

If your face is burned, be careful when applying makeup. If you don’t need makeup then don’t apply it. The skin needs to heal with the least irritation as possible. If you must have makeup, apply some neutral brown eye shadows, brown eye liner, mascara and moisturizing chap stick. Bright colors will only draw more attention to your face. Apply a light foundation in light dabs and forget powder if you are peeling. If you are not peeling you could try a green face powder for color correcting.

I am not going to tell you to remember to you know what, because I know you are probably kicking yourself right now. Just keep your skin moisturized and watch how your skin miraculously heals so quickly. It just amazes me, how skin really does heal itself fast.
