Reapply Sunscreen to Avoid Sunburns

Make sure to apply broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen this summer, so you don’t get a sunburn! Remember, UVA rays cause the tanning/burning. And reapply sunscreen every 2 hours or after swimming or excessive sweating. However, when you are playing all day in the sun it can be hard to remember to reapply sunscreen. Well, have you heard about Sundiwear stickers?

Apparently, you put this cute little sticker on your child and when it turns red, it is time to reapply sunscreen! And I don’t see any reason why a kid or an adult couldn’t wear this sticker?! It all depends if you mind sporting a cute little sticker. The stickers start off yellow and turn red and they come in all kinds of cute shapes, such as a dolphin, sun, skull, heart, or bear

And the best part is, you can get a FREE packet of Sundiwear stickers to try out before buying. Only one packet per family. Hurry and enter right now, it is probably only while supplies last.

Have fun in the sun this summer! Don’t forget that sunscreen!

Be Tan and Enjoy Summer!

Summer is coming up and it is time to have fun in the sun with a golden brown tan! Get out there and enjoy life. If you are not in quite the right shape yet, who cares! Life is too short, to be worried all the time about our bodies.

And don’t worry so much about the sun either. Find the best broad spectrum uva/uvb sunscreen you can, the ones with helioplex work excellent or check out this sunscreen list here. And go out and enjoy the warm weather.

Are you afraid of showing off those Lilly white legs in the first days of summer? Well, you can getting a fake tan that looks natural. You just have to find the right sunless tanning products for your skin type. Everybody skin is different and what works for someone may not necessary work for you. So start testing out the tanning products now and you will get the golden tan you desire. If you are not getting the dark tan that you want, try buying a small bottle from tanning companies that supply tanning salons. Yes, they sell small bottles that a far greater amount of DHA, than what you find in the stores. Use a special tanning applicator or a blue car pad sponge and apply quickly to your body in circular motions. Good things come with practice and so will your deep brown tan!

Start enjoying your summer as soon as you can with a beautiful bronze tan!

Peels for Smooth Beautiful Skin

Peels are great to conquer discolored hyper pigmentation skin caused from post acne marks, sun spots, age spots… If you have tried using retinoid products, Alpha Hydroxy Acid drugstore products, and a high sunscreen and you are still not getting the results you want then a peel may be for you.

You can go to a spa or a doctor and receive a peel, which probably is best, because they usually know what they are doing. However, if you cannot afford it, then buy a peel from a highly referred site like MakeUpArtistChoice.com (MUAC).

Beware, if you are going to do a peel yourself, start off Slowly! Do not leave the peel on longer than the directions say. And start off with a low percentage, such as 30% and work your way up. The day before your peel, stop retinoids and AHA/exfoliation products. Many people like the glycolic, lactic and TCA peels. Lactic peels are the gentlest of the peels, so you may want to start off with that one.

I have never done a strong peel, so read all reviews, but realize your mileage will vary. Check out makeupalley.com for some more tips. One girl said be careful following the directions of MUAC. Peels will continue to work, so make sure you fully remove all of it. After you rinse, your face will be red, but it should not be red the next day. You must neutralize the acid peel, baking soda and water will work as mentioned by MUAC, but be careful with anti-bacterial ointments. If you did the peel correctly you will have no broken skin, thus you will not need an ointment on closed skin.

You skin will peel, which is what you want. Use a good moisturize to hydrate. Do not use peels too often, you could strip your skin and make problems worse. Remember to keep using a good uvb/uva sunscreen everyday rain or shine, otherwise the pigmentation will return.

Red Lipstick

I love wearing red lip gloss or lipstick, after all my favorite color is red. It can be hard to find the right red lipstick. Depending on your skin tone, a blue base or orange base lipstick will look better on you.

During the day I use a red Neutrogena’s moisturizing lipstick that contains sunscreen, which I really like. It moisturizes, but unfortunately not as good as a lip gloss or lip balm. And at night I use a red lip gloss from Bath and Body Works, I still have so many Bath and Body Works lip glosses from their sales. I really like Bath and Body Works lip glosses and their yummy flavors, but sometimes variety is needed.

I have heard that matte lipsticks are more in fashion right now, rather than lip glosses too. Revlon Matte lipsticks have been getting raves. I will have to pick up their red one, I heard it was subtle, not too bright or too dark. Stay tuned for my raving red lipstick review. :)

Beauty Routine Application

Do you apply eye shadow or foundation first? I apply my eye makeup first because then if I mess up, I can wipe away the eye makeup and not mess up my foundation.

Applying my eye makeup first also lets my sunscreen dry. Remember to let your sunscreen dry for 10 to 30 minutes before applying foundation. You want the sunscreen to work at its’ best, and all sunscreens are formulated in a certain way. Applying foundation or moisturizer right after sunscreen can disrupt the film former of the sunscreen.

So an everyday skincare beauty routine looks like this:

1. Wash face

2. Apply moisturizer

3. Wait until moisturizer dries

4. Apply 1/4 teaspoon of sunscreen to face and 1/4 teaspoon to neck

5. Wait about 15 minutes

6. Apply makeup

Your Mom’s Skincare?

What does your Mom and Grandma use on her skin for skincare? My Mom always went by the statement less is more. She uses Clinque moisturizer and makeup remover. She does not use water, just the makeup remover, because water has high pH and can be harsh on your skin. I cannot imagine not using water to wash my face at night, but she gets away with it, her skin is pretty much flawless.

She does use sunscreen sometimes, but not too big on it. She has been a sun tanner her whole life and still is. And yet she still looks really young for her age too!

I do not remember what my Grandma wore. I know she always liked solid perfumes though, which I always thought were so beautifully unique.

Did your Mom or Grandma pass down any beauty secret tips to you? I know they did not worry about aging as much as we do now. Everybody ages and worrying about it makes you more wrinkly.

Aging Gracefully – The Secrets – Anti Aging Products Review

It is time for talk about Anti-aging products!

Everybody wants to know what the best anti aging facial products out there are! Wrinkle creams are so popular right now. Well, the most important thing though, is to focus on enjoying life and being with love ones. That is key. However, we should all try to find the best products for us and age as gracefully as we can! :)

Well, once again you have to look at the ingredients to find the most potent anti-aging product that is right for you! You cannot just read the front with all the great claims. Often times skin care companies will put just a little bit of the ingredient in their product, not even enough to really do anything! Yet they can claim it works miracles on the front of their anti aging beauty products!

So you have to check the ingredients and make sure the ingredient that you want is up high on the list!

After researching a lot on the internet and visiting beauty boards. The first best product to help you age gracefully is sunscreen of course. And the best anti aging skincare products are with vitamin A or Retinoid! Retinoid is an anti-aging ingredient that doctors have announced have scientific proof that really works! Eau Thermale Avene! Eau Thermale Avene is the best company. This skin care company is from France and have recently come into the United States. Avene has the highest potent retinoid products that you can buy over the counter!

Oh, and one more thing. Try not to worry so much in life. (it causes aging…hehe) There’s more to come about retinoids! Click the link for my next post on the best anti aging products from Avene!)

Do You Know How to Pick the Right Sunscreen?

Now just because it is Winter/Spring (depending where you at) right now does not mean one should not be wearing sunscreen everyday! That’s right everyday!

Now I know, I know. Everyday? Yes, everyday! I did not start wearing sunscreen everyday until about a year ago! I thought yeah, yeah, blah blah…. I only need sunscreen in the summer. And even in the summer the most I wore on my face was SPF15 because I was a tanner! I mean there were some summers growing up that I lied out almost every single day! Now at least I only tanned with the real sun and didn’t use tanning beds, because they ARE worse. And now I do have a couple sun spots on my face, not a lot, and they pretty much look like freckles, but I know they are from the sun!

I have research a lot and joined beauty forums, where I discovered skin care products that work for my skin. Of course the products make me photosensitive to the sunlight. And since everybody was so
sunscreen obsessed on the boards, I caved. Yes, I did wear sunscreen occasionally when I was outside for long periods of time, but apparently these sunscreens were not stable!

What? Stable? Yes a stable sunscreen last longer on the skin and protects the skin longer than an unstable sunscreen by a couple hours! A stable sunscreen also protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. When I use to pick up sunscreens I just grabbed ones that either had Avobenzone in it or the ones with the Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide in it. However there is another ingredient in the Avobenzone sunscreens that can destabilize the sunscreen, which causes it to degrade faster in the sun and be less protective on you!

So yes, you have to look at sunscreen ingredients! It only takes one second to look! First you have to learn about what they mean! It’s pretty easy and you only have to learn the active ingredients. Because the active ingredients tell you how much protection from the UVA rays you are getting. The UVA rays are the rays that causes the aging (wrinkles)! The SPF number protects you from the UVB rays.

An SPF 30 is good for everyday, but you should really put on higher if you are going to be walking around in the sun a lot or at the beach! So remember to look at the ingredients because the UVA protection # is not on the front of the bottle like the SPF.

In the U.S.A. one can now buy UVA protection as high as about 19! This is the new sunscreen that was released last summer, by Neutrogena! The Dry-Touch SPF 55 and 70 with the new Helioplex ingredient! However, a UVA protection of 8 is good for everyday, 19 is great, but 8 is good for everyday going to work days. In Europe one can buy up to about 35 UVA protection! It’s interesting that Europe is so far ahead of the U.S. when it comes to sunscreen. At least the U.S. is finally getting better! Of course I can’t say I was waiting around for the U.S. to get better since I didn’t start wearing it everyday until the Neutrogena sunscreen hit the shelves. I guess I just lucked out!
(I will post more about the importance of UVA protection next time!)
