Modern Science Has Produced Some Fabulous Anti Aging Products

There are many exceptional anti aging products on the market today. However, we’ve all heard the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

One of the most important things a person can do for prevention is to use sunscreen. SPF30 or higher is recommended. Makeup with sunscreen in it is not enough protection. A true sunscreen contains the best protection. The problem with sunscreen is that it needs to be re-applied more often than anyone does. And be sure to apply 1/4 teaspoon to you face and a 1/4 teaspoon to your neck. If you perspire or are out in the sun for extended periods, it is recommended to apply it every hour. If you work indoors then apply it before you go outside. Keep in mind that UVA rays, which causes the wrinkles, do penetrate windows. So if you are next to large windows all day long and drive long commutes, then you need to apply sunscreen.

There are many foods that nourish the skin and prevent wrinkles. What you eat really does affect your skin. Take care of your skin on the inside and the outside. Vitamin C will protect your skin from ultraviolet rays. It is good to get this vitamin from foods such as oranges, peppers and lemons. Vitamin C helps your body produce more collagen. A good stable Vitamin C anti aging product applied topically will help as well.

Another form of food that helps the skin is sunflower seeds. Seeds and nuts contain fatty acids, which enables your skin to secrete natural oils and keep you from loosing water. Natural oils keep your skin soft and also reduce blackheads.

Papayas contain carotenoids, which release vitamin A and are an anti oxidant. Whole grains are a source of vitamin B, which will fight skin infections. The niacin that whole grains contain helps the skin to absorb the nutrients in your other foods and helps with energy production.

Green tea is a huge antioxidant and contains flavornoids, which wards off damage from free radicals and UVA rays. Other foods that help are pulses rich in proteins and ingesting aloe juice, which helps with the pigment of the skin. Add these foods to your diet and then use topical anti aging products to reduce fine lines as well.

When buying anti wrinkle creams for a more youthful appearance you will want to use products with the following ingredients: Retinalehyde, it reduces wrinkles and it helps with acne as well. Check out Avene’s anti aging wrinkle product. They are stronger than other over the counter retinol products. Epidermal Growth Factor or EGF contains fifty-three amino acids, which helps to renew the skin. You will gain elasticity by stimulating the production of collagen. Alpha hydroxy and  Beta hydroxy acids are used in chemical peels. Chemical peels removes the dead skin cells by dissolving the intracellular adhesive that holds dead cells together. It then incites the skin cells to renew themselves. Exfoliating the skin with chemical peels is a great anti wrinkle treatment.

Eating healthy foods, with lots of fruits and vegetables really helps keep the youthful appearance of your skin. Encourage your children to eat plenty of healthy foods at an early age so they form a healthy habit. Get them to at least try one bite every time and hopefully they will develop a liking. Make sure to drink a lot of water everyday as well. The human body is made up of about 70% to 80% water, so water is huge for healthy youthful skin. Learn to love water. Now find some great anti aging products that work for you and you will be aging gracefully!

Anti Wrinkle Cream, Glasses, and Aging

Aging happens to everybody. Unfortunately, as we get older our eyes cannot see words in books or blogs as clearly as in the past. Do you think you might need glasses? It is important to take care of your eyes and providing them with glasses will keep you from squinting. And the less your squint, the less wrinkles you will get around your eyes. Anti wrinkle cream works, but so does the proper glasses.

There are simple reading glasses that are cute too. They make really nice glasses nowadays, in big brand names as well. Looking like the sexy secretary every once in awhile probably won’t be so bad either. If they really bother you though, you could always try contacts. It is all about seeing better and making sure you don’t squint, which can cause more wrinkles.

So have fun reading your books next to a warm fire this winter and be cute doing it. Also remember to wear sunscreen around your eyes even in the winter. Sunscreen is the best anti-aging skincare product. If your face sunscreen stings your eyes then try using a separate one for around your eyes. Use a gentle physical one or the Hawaiian Tropics Baby Faces and Tender Places one is really gentle too. Don’t forget about sunglasses either. You can buy prescription sunglasses as well. Sunglasses with broad spectrum UVA/UVB built right into the lenses will protect you from the sun’s harsh rays. Sunglasses are wonderful for anti-aging and they will last you forever, unlike the anti wrinkle creams.

Smoking Ages Skin Faster

Are you a smoker?

Smoking makes your skin age faster and if you spend money on anti-aging products then you are pretty much just wasting your money.

We all know that smoking is bad for you, but if you are looking for more of a reason to quit, then think about your skin. You may be young now, but the cigarettes will age you soon. Smoking cigarettes ages you about 10 to 20 years more than your natural age.

Smoking also causes women to be more addicted, have cancer, and age faster than men who smoke. Hey, life is not fair, make the most of it and quit now!:)

Smoking causes more free radicals, which ages the skin. Smoking also causes the skin to reduce vitamin A and C, which are of free radicals!

Quit now and you may not be able to reverse all the damage, but you certainly will not make your skin any worse! A good anti-aging routine will greatly help to reduce your past damage too.

Anti-Aging Treatments for 50 Years Young!

What is the best anti-aging treatment for ladies who are 50 years young?

Well of course it really comes down to what works for you. Lasers, botox, and plastic surgery of course work the best, because they are the most extreme. I would definitely go for lasers and botox before plastic surgery, because that is all you may need.

I have not research much on lasers and botox, because well I do not need to get it done right now, so when the time comes if I choose, I will deeply research it and get recommendations. Botox sounds cool and not very expensive, even though you do have to get it done every three months. And it is amazing how technology just gets better and better. If you want me to research something specific for you let me know.

As for a topical anti-aging treatment. Prescriptions of Retin-A works the best if your skin can tolerate it. Retin-A has been scientifically proven to work over and over again. Prescription are the strongest formulations you can get.

If you do not want to get a prescription. Then of course I recommend Eau Thermale Avene as I have talked about in many other posts. There are many different formulations of retrinal over the counter and you want to make sure to get the strongest one. Avene’s formulation of retrinal is stronger than other retinol formulations.

Then just make sure to wear the highest UVA/UVB broad spectrum sunscreen that your skin tolerates. If you are afraid to use one of these treatments because they make you more photosensitive to the sun then reapply your sunscreen. Even the best sunscreen will not protect you all day, but if you apply sunscreen in the morning, at lunch, and before you commute home then you should be plenty protected!

Talk to your dermatologist about it if you are really worried. And if you are that worried than perhaps these types of anti-aging treatments are not for you. A good sunscreen after all is the best anti-aging treatment you can do for you skin. Perhaps just a good sunscreen and a nice antioxidant serum is what you need.

I hope all of you beautiful wise ladies find an anti-aging treatment that works for you. And please share any beauty tips you have learned with me.

Protect You Eyes with the Right Sunglasses!

Sunglasses are so fashionable and they protect your eyes from the harmful UV rays!
Right now the style is the bigger the better!

Sunglasses make it easier on your eyes when you go out into the bright sunlight. They keep you from squinting too and we know that squinting can cause wrinkles, so double plus there!
Make sure your sunglasses say they are 98 to 100 percent UV protection! UV-400 is another label that is used on sunglasses, which blocks out 100 percent of UV rays too. Not all sunglasses protect you this much! Some sunglasses only protect you 60 to 70 percent. Sunglasses labels are not regulated so the labels may say 100 percent UV protection, but it is not true. Take your sunglasses to get a optometrist office to get them tested if you want to be sure.

Protecting the eyes from the sun is very important!
Prolong exposure to the sun can cause eyes to have cataracts or pingueculae eye growths on the eye. Wear your sunglasses all year long too, because the sun can reflect up to 80 percent of sunlight from the snow. The sun reflects off of water, the sidewalk, buildings, and cars too! Wrap around sunglasses are best because they prevent a lot of light from seeping through the sides of the frame. Polycarbonate lenses in many of the sports sunglasses claim to protect you from 100 percent of the UV rays! Polycarbonate lenses are also shatter-resistant, so if you get into a car accident you may be protected more. Pick dark lenses they will decrease glare. If you can see your eyes when looking into a mirror the lenses are not dark enough. Although dark lenses does not mean they have the correct UV ray protection. You really need to get your sunglasses tested to know for sure.

So treat yourself to some new hot sunglasses for this summer!

Do Chinese Facial Exercises Work?

Happy Friday!

Back to Chinese facial exercises.
The face shows so many emotions everyday. Joy, sorrow, anger, confusion, shock, bewilderment, seriousness, mundane, grief…and on and on. Our expressions communicate what we think and feel. Without expressions life would be pretty boring. Therefore the face should be treated with great care and gentleness.

Chinese facial exercises have been around for quite awhile. Many people believe that they are the non-surgical miracle to staying young. Yoga facial exercises classes are even all the rage at exercise clubs. They believe that your face will stay toned and firm by building up all the muscles in your face.

However, skin sags too. Building muscle under the skin will not stop skin from sagging. Plus you know all the expression lines we get from smiling or raising our foreheads, well it will only get worse if you perform these exercises multiple times a day. Chinese facial exercises tell you to hold all kinds of positions for 20sets three times a day… It is a great commitment that has to implemented into your daily exercise routine. And there is no clear evidence that it really works as an anti-aging treatment.

Making your face crease more sounds like it will only create more wrinkles. They are called expression lines for a reason. Besides the face is worked and toned everyday just by making everyday expressions! Relaxing the face more will help you to look younger and have less wrinkles.

What causes wrinkles? Gravity, the sun, and making expressions.

Exercise in general well help your skin and your overall body. It is known that exercising at least 3 days a week can add years to your life! Exercise does help blood circulation causing more oxygen to the skin, thus your skin will look more radiant. So body exercise not facial exercise is the secret to anti-aging!

Keep on smiling too! Smiling and laughing has to add a couple years on to your life, plus it makes everybody more beautiful!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mothers out there!

Aging Gracefully – Secrets Still Continued – Anti Aging Products

Time for more talk about Avene’s anti aging products! The best part is Avene products are pretty reasonably priced, well compared to the expensive products in department stores, that may not even work! Ystheal facial lotion is only $32 and can be found at many CVS drug stores! Check it out on online to see if your local store carries it, not all do, or you can buy it right online. If you joined the CVS club you will get coupons and cash back. They also have a $4 off of $20 coupon a lot too! Of, course you should check out Amazon as well.

Now $32 really is a great deal! One bottle lasts for about 6 months! All you need is a pea-size drop for your whole face. And I mean pea-size. This stuff is strong.

Also you must start out slowly. Use it three times a week and then move up to four times a week, then every other day and then every day, if your skin can handle it. Retinaldehyde a form of Vitamin A will make your skin purge (causing little pimples). And your skin may become dry and flaky for the first couple weeks, this means the anti aging skincare product is working though. The Retinaldehyde is turning over your skin’s dead cells. Isn’t it great to know that the anti aging product is working and is strong enough to do something!? So if you started applying it everyday right off, your skin will really flake and get irritated, the skin adjusts gradually to Retinoids. Make sure to watch your skin, and treat it accordingly.

Also if your skin never stops flaking, then Retinaldehyde anti aging beauty products may be too strong for your skin. Then you can move down to retinol and work your way up or try different anti aging facial products out there like antioxidants (more on these soon). Some good retinol products are from the Neutrogena and Roc skincare lines. I will post even more about Retinoid anti aging products in my next post as well, so stay tuned!

Do You Know How to Pick the Right Sunscreen?

Now just because it is Winter/Spring (depending where you at) right now does not mean one should not be wearing sunscreen everyday! That’s right everyday!

Now I know, I know. Everyday? Yes, everyday! I did not start wearing sunscreen everyday until about a year ago! I thought yeah, yeah, blah blah…. I only need sunscreen in the summer. And even in the summer the most I wore on my face was SPF15 because I was a tanner! I mean there were some summers growing up that I lied out almost every single day! Now at least I only tanned with the real sun and didn’t use tanning beds, because they ARE worse. And now I do have a couple sun spots on my face, not a lot, and they pretty much look like freckles, but I know they are from the sun!

I have research a lot and joined beauty forums, where I discovered skin care products that work for my skin. Of course the products make me photosensitive to the sunlight. And since everybody was so
sunscreen obsessed on the boards, I caved. Yes, I did wear sunscreen occasionally when I was outside for long periods of time, but apparently these sunscreens were not stable!

What? Stable? Yes a stable sunscreen last longer on the skin and protects the skin longer than an unstable sunscreen by a couple hours! A stable sunscreen also protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. When I use to pick up sunscreens I just grabbed ones that either had Avobenzone in it or the ones with the Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide in it. However there is another ingredient in the Avobenzone sunscreens that can destabilize the sunscreen, which causes it to degrade faster in the sun and be less protective on you!

So yes, you have to look at sunscreen ingredients! It only takes one second to look! First you have to learn about what they mean! It’s pretty easy and you only have to learn the active ingredients. Because the active ingredients tell you how much protection from the UVA rays you are getting. The UVA rays are the rays that causes the aging (wrinkles)! The SPF number protects you from the UVB rays.

An SPF 30 is good for everyday, but you should really put on higher if you are going to be walking around in the sun a lot or at the beach! So remember to look at the ingredients because the UVA protection # is not on the front of the bottle like the SPF.

In the U.S.A. one can now buy UVA protection as high as about 19! This is the new sunscreen that was released last summer, by Neutrogena! The Dry-Touch SPF 55 and 70 with the new Helioplex ingredient! However, a UVA protection of 8 is good for everyday, 19 is great, but 8 is good for everyday going to work days. In Europe one can buy up to about 35 UVA protection! It’s interesting that Europe is so far ahead of the U.S. when it comes to sunscreen. At least the U.S. is finally getting better! Of course I can’t say I was waiting around for the U.S. to get better since I didn’t start wearing it everyday until the Neutrogena sunscreen hit the shelves. I guess I just lucked out!
(I will post more about the importance of UVA protection next time!)
